Meet the Staff

  • Tom Porten

    Tournament Director

After spending the last two years learning about the golf community in Fargo/Moorhead, I had an idea I believed could grow the game for kids. After speaking to Greg McCullough (Head Professional at Edgewood), along with the rest of the muni misfits, the Discover Junior Golf Tour was created. Under the umbrella of the Fargo Parks District and with the complete support of the Solberg Family and Bell Bank,

My extensive experience as a college coach (27 yrs) developing tournaments with the NCAA culminated in the 2017 NCAA Division I Men & Women's Golf National Championships at Rich Harvest Farms. I am excited to bring a new kind of experience for juniors in Fargo that focuses on the player experience!
